Ms. Melody Francis Lewis

November 12, 1958 — February 28, 2025

Melody Francis Warren Lewis was born, second of three to Thomas Alexander Warren Sr. and Tiny Lucinda Francis Warren on November 12, 1958 at Forte George G. Mead Army Base in Anne Arundel County. 


She was raised in West Baltimore. “3533”and 112 N. Monastery is where she shares her fondest memories growing up with her “baby brother” She Graduated from Western High School and later received a certification at Advanced Career Training in Downtown Baltimore. She later worked with the Department of Human Resources, Child Support Division and retired after 30 years of service to the State of Maryland. On July 11, 1993, Melody dedicated her life through baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. On February 28, 2025, She fell asleep in death, faithful to her God Jehovah. She used some of her last breaths to ensure that her service time was counted for the month of February. 


Melody was affectionately known for her sense of humor, her “spot on” impersonations, her hearty laughter, her unique sayings, culinary skills, her love for animals, her art and drawings, her excellent gardening skills, her love for shopping and decorating, her resilience, strength and determination, her love for pictures, and especially her singing. All of her musical talents were self-taught. She wrote, arranged, produced, and distributed many original songs. Some of her fondest memories are shared with her bandmates of “Black Wood Sage” and “One Step Beyond”. She was known far and wide for her vocal range and masterful stage presence. Her remarkable talents were endless. 


She leaves to mourn her two children, Maurice Jameson Warren, Kelli Denise Murray ; her son n law Deverick Sean Murray Sr; her 8 grandchildren, Kelae Melody Pittman, Jerome Edward Lyles Jr., Kelae Mone’ Aaliyah Kent, Kori Mailani Bowman, Kyle Vaughn Bowman, J’Elle Sean Murray and Deverick Sean Murray Jr; one great grandson, Jerome Edward Lyles III, and one grandson in law, Stanley Kent; two siblings Sharon Denise Ray and “baby brother” Thomas Alexander Warren Jr. Additionally, her nieces and nephews, her loving cousins and a host of family, dear friends and the worldwide organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
